St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus
St. Thérèse’s life was brief but her deep faith, unwavering love, and humble devotion left a lasting impact, inspiring generations through her "Little Way" of simplicity and grace.
St. Thérèse never wavered in her faith and love despite facing profound hardships—including the loss of her mother at a young age and an undiagnosable illness. At just 15 years old, following the "miracle of conversion," she entered the convent with unwavering determination to serve God and reveal the transformative power of His love.
On September 30, 1897, St. Thérèse passed away from tuberculosis, leaving behind her intimate memoir, The Story of a Soul, a work that continues to inspire hearts across generations. In recognition of her deep spirituality, love, and devotion, she was beatified by Pope Pius XI in 1923 and canonized on May 25, 1925, securing her lasting place among the saints.
Love proves itself by deeds, so how am I to show my love? Great deeds are forbidden me. The only way I can prove my love is by scattering flowers and these flowers are every little sacrifice, every glance and word, and the doing of the least actions for love.
